Title | Try to keep the title under 60 characters (865 characters) Disease and Arthropod-Vectors Ecology – My research focuses on disease and arthropod ecology with emphasis on two main avenues to understand a) the microhabitat variables that affect biological and behavioral mechanisms of arthropod communities such as host-seeking, feeding, oviposition, and insecticide resistance, and b) the geographic and genetic profiles of disease pathogens and arthropod vectors in response to macrohabitat covariates using a complex multi-system approach including climate, landscape, and socioeconomic systems. I am a PI and Co-PI of several funded grants (DWFP, FDACS, NIFAA, CDMRP) that cover operational and fundamental research questions. My research includes laboratory and field testing. I use multiple geospatial statistical tools such as ArcGIS, R and Python to generate user-friendly codes for machine learning applications. |
